Warranty Information - Extended Warranty
Effective Date: 1 January 2025
This extended warranty applies to goods sold by TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd (trading as TDI Offroad)
1. Rights under the Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. The benefits conferred by this extended warranty are in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
2. Coverage of Extended Warranty
2.1 Warranty provided
- Goods sold by TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd (Goods), when used in normal conditions in accordance with their specifications and our maintenance recommendations and safety warnings, will be free from defects in material and workmanship for the period specified in section 2.2 (Extended Warranty).
- The Extended Warranty is provided for no fee with our Xtreme series Ute Tray only
- Subject to the exclusions set out in section 2.3, if a Good is defective in material or workmanship, TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd will either repair or replace the Good (at its absolute discretion).
- TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd is not liable for any losses, damages, costs or expenses incurred or suffered by you or anyone else, due to a defect in a Good other than the costs associated with the repair or replacement of the Good as set out in this Extended Warranty.
2.2 Period of warranty
- TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd provides an industry-leading Lifetime Warranty on the following structural components of the Xtreme Series Ute Tray for the original end-user purchaser:
- Welding to the tray and canopy,
- Tray mount, and
- Structural tray framework.
- This Lifetime Warranty remains valid for as long as the original purchaser owns the product. If the original end-user purchaser is a corporation, the warranty period is 10 years from the date TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd notifies you that installation is complete and your vehicle is available for collection.
- If the original end-user purchaser is using the product for mining, fleet or trade, the warranty period is 5 years from the date TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd notifies you that installation is complete and your vehicle is available for collection.
- For all other components, the Extended Warranty is for a period of 2 years, beginning from the date TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd notifies you that installation is complete and your vehicle is ready for collection.
2.3 Exclusions
The Extended Warranty does not apply to defects arising as a result of:
- misuse (including use other than in accordance with the specifications or intended use), neglect or mistreatment;
- improper maintenance;
- the use of accessories not manufactured by TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd;
- failure by the purchaser to comply with all applicable laws;
- external influences such as accident, fire, extreme weather, vandalism or climatic effects such as damage caused by salt water or sand;
- general wear and tear; or
- repairs, modifications or alterations not performed by TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd.
2.4 Transfer
- The Extended Warranty is limited to the original end-user purchaser of the Good and will expire upon transfer of the Good to another individual or entity.
3. Extended Warranty claims
3.1 What to do when a Goods is defective If you suspect that a Goods is defective, you must promptly contact TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd to make a claim in accordance with section 3.2 and, if directed by TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd, immediately cease using the Good.
3.2 How to claim
- To make a claim under this Extended Warranty, you must contact TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd via email or telephone using the contact details set out in
- section 4. TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd requires the following information in order to process your claim:
- your name;
- your contact information including contact phone number and email address;
- details of the Good, including any reference number recorded on your invoice;
- details of the alleged defect(s) including the specific component of the Good affected, a description of the alleged defect(s) and photos which evidence the alleged defect(s); and
- any additional evidence or information that you wish to provide or is otherwise reasonably required by TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd.
- Unless otherwise agreed, TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd also requires that you make the Good available at its nearest workshop to you for inspection and testing. Unless otherwise agreed, you will deliver the Good to TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd for inspection, testing.
3.3 Responding to a claim
- TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd will respond to your claim within 5 business days of receipt and, if required, make arrangements for the delivery of the Good to TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd for inspection and testing.
- TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd will advise of the outcome of your claim, including whether the Good will be repaired or replaced, within 10 business days of the Good being delivered to TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd or, if TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd does not require delivery of the Goods to its workshop, within 10 business days of the date that TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd responds to your claim under clause 3.3(a).
- If TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd determines that the Good has a defect which is covered by the Extended Warranty, TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd will promptly either:
- repair or replace the Good (as it determines in its absolute discretion) and make the Good available for collection once repair or replacement is complete; or
- send a replacement for the Good to you in which case you will be responsible for the installation of the replacement Good, and the claim will be closed.
- If you do not provide information reasonably requested by TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd or do not make the Good available for inspection and testing as required by TruDesign Industries Pty Ltd, the claim will be closed. If the claim is closed, you will not be able to submit a subsequent claim in relation to that defect under this Extended Warranty. This does not prevent you from submitting a subsequent claim if you believe there is a different defect in the Good
Returns
We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.
Note: Due to the size of our items we sell, the customer is responsible for the freight costs applicable with the return.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned such as custom products (such as special orders or personalized items). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
